Local, friendly & professional chimney sweeps for over 120 years

Find your local Wilkins Chimney Sweep:

Why choose a Wilkins Chimney Sweep?

Expert service

Our sweeps undergo comprehensive training before working in their local area, are reassessed on their sweeping standards at least annually, and arrive in fully liveried vehicles and branded workwear.

Peace of mind

All our sweeps are fully insured, carrying a minimum of £2 million public liability as well as professional indemnity insurance. They also each have a full, clean police check before they start with us.

We're nice people!

That's really important to us. Our sweeps are personable and passionate about their work, and most have been trained on interacting with people who have dementia or disabilities.

We pride ourselves on our core values of reliability, cleanliness and exceptional standards

We provide a professional, fully insured chimney sweeping service for all types of chimney, using brushes and a vacuum, and where appropriate rotary power sweeping equipment, to keep your property as clean when we leave as it was when we arrived.

Our network of sweeps operate in their local communities from Whitley Bay to West Sussex, and are fully trained to handle:

  • Open fires

  • Woodburning stoves

  • Jetmasters

  • Rayburns

  • Agas

  • Biomass Boilers

  • All other types of flue where provision
    has been made for sweeping

We also provide a range of related services such as fitting cages, caps & cowls and removing nests & other blockages. In addition, we can supply you with  carbon monoxide alarms and other high-quality products.

It is important to have your chimneys swept regularly (at least annually) to remove soot and other debris. This helps keep you protected from potential chimney fires and carbon monoxide poisoning from a blocked flue. It also ensures that you comply with the conditions of your buildings insurance.  We issue certificates of sweeping after we complete a job.

All Wilkins Chimney Sweeps are police checked and comprehensively trained, including Ladder Association training in the safe use of ladders and ladder placement. We work to the codes of conduct and practice stipulated by our industry body, APICS (Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps).

Wilkins Chimney Sweep & Burnright

Burnright is the national consumer awareness campaign designed to help you get the most from your fire and fuel. Getting it right will save you money, make you safer and significantly reduce unnecessary air pollution.

Need a professional chimney sweep?

The health of our customers and our sweeps is our number 1 priority and we are following all appropriate Government advice with regards to the Coronavirus outbreak.

We are currently unable to carry out sweeping in customers’ homes in the vast majority of cases, although if you feel that there is an ‘emergency’ situation please contact us for advice.

If your wood burner or open fire has not been swept for some time, we would strongly advise that it is not used. Once we return to full time work we will be working our hardest to ensure that all of our customers chimneys are safe for next winter.

We hope you understand and that you and your family stay safe throughout the current situation.
